Totally Focused Reviews and Netflix Winners!

As expected, I didn't get a huge response. But I did get some great recommendations of films to watch, some of which were already in my queue but kept getting pushed further down the list.

That said, they will now be bumped to the top of my list and I will watch them as soon as they get in and review them each in a separate entry. The films I'll be watching, in no particular order are:

Helvetica
A documentary about typography and the much loved, and hyped, font "Helvetica"

King Corn
A documentary about two friends who want to learn where their food comes from by moving to Iowa and learning through locals the process of growing corn, America's biggest grain. They unearth more than their crop when they decide to follow their corn into the food system.

Across the Universe
A love story inspired by The Beatles and the Vietnam war.

Spriggan
An anime in which the "superhero" must stop a military force from gaining ultimate power.

Hot Rod
Comedy about a wannabe stuntman.

Knocked Up
Comedy about a young minded party-goer who is faced with the idea of becoming a father after a one night stand.

Superbad
Two raunchy high school friends attempt to plan the ultimate party before they both head off to college.

Since I don't regard myself as the same caliber as Elvis Mitchell, whom I respect and admire, I would like to try and tackle my reviews in a simpler way for clarity and accessibility. I don't exactly know how this will turn out in the end but I think splitting the write-ups into a different "focus" will help the long-windedness and tangential rambling. I'm even mulling about the idea of filming short segments for each review to go along with the writeup.

I welcome and would love to hear your suggestions in format, movies to review or any ideas on what you'd like to hear most. Also, if you'd like to know what movie I'll be reviewing you can follow me on twitter at twitter.com/joeytrimmer and I'll tweet the movie there first as they come in from Netflix.

Also to note, thank you cclub and Erik for your suggestions! Because of limited fine print, I'm unaware of whether or not being current netflix subscribers would prohibit you from the free month trial you've earned. You'll be getting an email anyway and if it doesn't work I'll have to think of something else to give away.
