I’m back from a weeks vacation in California to visit my friend, Reed, who has finally returned after a two-year stint teaching in Japan. Luckily, I was able to visit with my friend Nicole too who was also back from Japan while she prepares for her next trip to Korea.
Reed and I have known each other for over twenty years now. I’m getting used to his international ventures but it was great finally catching up and hearing of his travels and just hanging out and relaxing before we both jumped back into our daily routines.
I went to Barack Obama’s rally last Friday and it was an amazing experience. The bus to the event was overpacked and had to skip stops that were crowded with people going to the event, the Key Arena (where the Supersonics play) was over-capacity with more than 18,000 people inside and over 3,000 people unable to get in. After countless attempts to find a seat I finally found a staircase leading up to the nosebleed section with only 5 people packed in and I was able to squeeze in behind them to watch the rally.
I got my new friend from the Seattle Animal Shelter. Poor guy got sick right away and had to stay for an extra 10 days on antibiotics. I waited.
I had a great Thanksgiving over at John and Steph’s house. Nice and mellow with good company and delicious food.
For some reason, All Hallow’s Eve snuck up on me yet again. I think it’s because my nose has been smooshed into my Macbook so much that the days blend together. I feel like I’m doing the moonwalk into each week. I give the appearance of moving forward yet somehow I’m moving backward (sweet visual). So now I’ve decided to work this weekend a little and find myself unsure of which, if any, Halloween party to attend.
I’ve finally made the first step to releasing my video podcast tentatively (and most likely temporarily) titled “The Joey Showy”. I’ve created the theme song!
It’s very exciting because I can’t wait to release the podcast and share it with everyone. It’s been years since I decided I was going to do a podcast. It started with the idea of doing a radio play type podcast, but my new digicam has a really nice video feature that I just can’t ignore. The next day I shared it with a few people to get a little feedback and tried to not think about it while working. I tend to over-think my own artistic endeavors.
Welcome to the totally new JoeyTrimmer.com! It’s been a long time in the works but I’ve finally finished and am really excited to jump back into the blogging world with a bang.
